About Baba Fareed

Dargah Shareef, a place where wishes and desires come true. Devotees from all over the world visit this Dargah, to be blessed by Khawaja Baba and to fulfill their desires. More often than not their wishes do come true and the wish fulfillment is usually followed by devotees services flowers, gilaf (velvet cloth), attar (non-alcoholic perfume) and sandal wood powder.
Apart from that we also provide spiritual treatment to humanity, to elevate them to follow the order of Almighty God. We pass on this knowledge and our culture to inquisitive minds like students, researchers and travelers. Our books and works of literature help our visitors to understand our philosophy better.

Fariduddin Ganjshakar first introduced the institution of the Langar in the Punjab region. The institution greatly contributed to the social fabric of Punjabi society and allowed peoples of various faiths and backgrounds to attain free food and drink. The practice, introduced by Fariduddin Ganjshakar grew and is documented in the Jawahir al-Faridi compiled in 1623 CE. It was later, both the institution and term, adopted by Sikhs.
